I found this stone crushing plant on a hillside in Otaru, Hokkaido. I'm not an expert in such things, but I believe it was once used to turn stone from a nearby quarry into gravel. I didn't explore the quarry itself; the gate bore a fairly new no trespassing sign, which I respected.
I think the machinery was once controlled from this small shed, which was perched precariously atop a steel frame on the edge of the hill. I thought it would be a bad idea to enter such a dubious structure, but I placed my tripod on the floor just inside the door to take some interior shots.
